Safety and user suitability
Children over 8 years old and people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lacking in experience and knowledge may only use the unit under supervision and after suitable briefing, if they are aware of the related risks. Children under 8 years old must not use the unit, and children must be supervised to ensure they do not play with the system.
It is forbidden to open the boiler, power supply or any system components. Maintenance work may only be carried out by trained technicians observing safety regulations. The boiler must be disconnected from the mains connection before any work.
Burn and scalding risks
The connecting parts to the boiler, hoses, tubes and interior parts can be very hot. When swivelling the outlet, do not touch the end, as it can become very hot. Boiling hot water may be drawn from the tap, so particular care is required when opening the tap. When the boiler is emptied, hot water may come out.
Continuous, local splashing of boiling hot water on composite kitchen sinks can cause discolouration.
Installation requirements
- Only specialist technicians may install the hot water system.
- The hot water boiler must be placed and installed in an upright position.
- Installation is allowed only in frostproof rooms.
- Pipelines and hoses must be thoroughly flushed and washed before installation.
- The supplied safety assembly module, and only this module, must be installed directly upstream of the boiler inlet in the correct direction of flow, without any blockage between the module and the boiler inlet.
- The boiler expansion water must drip into the safety assembly module funnel, and from there into the drain connection.
- No hose extensions may be used between the safety assembly module and boiler or between the boiler and fitting.
- Country-specific installation and operation requirements must be taken into account.
Operation of hot water
To open the hot water, press the safety button and pull the tap lever forwards, holding the lever until the required amount of water has been drawn. To close, turn the tap lever back or simply release it; the tap will close automatically.
Maintenance and servicing
- Only BLANCO Customer Service may repair the hot water system.
- Only specialist technicians may carry out maintenance tasks.
- Before maintenance, disconnect the power supply, close the corner valves and wait until the boiler has cooled down.
- Use BLANCO original spare parts and accessory parts only.
- Use only filter cartridges recommended by BLANCO.
Testing the safety assembly module
The safety valve must be checked every six months. Briefly turn the cap on the pressure control valve in the safety assembly module through about 90°. This opens the valve and water will flow into the drain. Ensure that the drain is correctly installed and that the water can drain away. After releasing the cap, no water must come out. If water continues to flow, the pressure control valve no longer shuts correctly and the safety assembly must be replaced.
Boiler LED signalling
- BLUE – Commissioning, system self-check.
- RED, flashing – Heating up.
- RED – Heating-up complete.
- ORANGE, flashing – System error.
- BLUE, flashing – No water in the boiler.
Filter capacity and DigiFlow 8300T
The BLANCO Drink Filter is monitored by the DigiFlow 8300T. Filter capacity is set by pressing the PROG button and using the controls with values such as 0040, 0540 and 1540 litres. The display shows the remaining capacity and can be reset to 0000 when a new filter is installed. The unit operates on 2x Type AA batteries.
To determine local water hardness, the total hardness °dH (marked as °dTH / °dH) should be established and used when setting the filter capacity.
