Does the AW442120 have its own motor?

No, the AW442120 is motorless. It is designed to be combined with Gaggenau BLDC remote fan units, and its power levels depend on the selected remote fan unit.

Can this hood be used in both extraction and recirculation modes?

Yes. The hood can operate as an air extraction or recirculation system. For recirculation, a recirculation module with activated charcoal filters is installed in the inner chimney, and special air recirculation chimneys are available.

What type of lighting does the hood provide?

It uses neutral white surface LED lights at 3500 K, with 3 x 10 W lamps. The lighting is continuously dimmable and offers an illuminance of 940 lx for ideal illumination of the whole cooktop.

How is grease filtration handled and how do I clean the filter?

The hood features an angled baffle filter with high grease absorption. The baffle filter is dishwasher-safe for convenient cleaning, and a grease filter saturation indicator signals when attention is required.

What installation clearances are required above the hob?

The minimum clearance above gas appliances is 70 cm, and the minimum clearance above electric appliances is 60 cm. These clearances should be observed during planning and installation.

Is there any special requirement when combining the hood with a fireplace?

When installing the ventilation hood in air extraction mode together with a chimney-vented fireplace, the power supply line of the ventilation appliance needs a suitable safety switch.
