Installation space and recess requirements

• The floor must be capable of bearing the weight of the appliance plus approximately 218 kg to 544 kg of food, depending on model net capacity.
• The floor should be level; the appliance must be supported or levelled at floor level so that ventilation openings are clear.
• Recess dimensions must be correctly measured and the power socket positioned correctly and easily accessible (not behind the appliance).
• Recess top and carcass walls should line up flush with the appliance at a depth of at least 102 mm from the outside edge, with material thickness of at least 16 mm.
• Because the unit recess is partially visible when the door is opened, the inside should match the unit surface and have a minimum depth of 76 mm.
• Monolith appliances are designed for flush installation in units with 635 mm depth using stainless steel or customer‑specific panels.
• The depth of Monolith appliances is 610 mm, suitable for standard European 610 mm units and deeper 635 mm cut‑outs.
• For flush installation, door panel dimensions for inset door panels must be used; for other installation options, door spacing requirements must be observed.

Plinth panel & ventilation

• The appliance is ventilated entirely via the plinth panel; the grill must not be obstructed.
• Door panels must close at least 102 mm above the floor.
• Spacers supplied with the appliance must be fitted to separate warm outgoing air from fresh incoming air.
• Liebherr offers optional stainless steel plinth panels 102 mm high in widths matching Monolith models and Side‑by‑Side combinations.
• The plinth panel depth position can be varied and is assembled via a pre‑assembled adhesive joint.

Door spacing & opening angle

• Appliances must be installed so doors and handles do not collide with adjoining cupboards, work surfaces, walls or other elements.
• Door opening angle is set to 115 ° ex‑works and can be limited to 90 ° by inserting the supplied door opening limiter peg into the hinge.
• A minimum spacing of 76 mm is required to avoid collisions when doors open up to 90 °.
• For back‑to‑back door positioning with 90 ° limiters and centre opening, a minimum dividing wall width of 154 mm is required.
• The minimum permitted gap between door panels is 3 mm.
• Possible solutions if collisions occur include reducing panel thickness (if more than 19 mm), repositioning adjoining elements or using a stopper.

Side‑by‑Side installation options

• Monolith appliances can be installed individually, Side‑by‑Side in a single fitted unit, or Side‑by‑Side in separate units.
• A Side‑by‑Side set is required if the distance between installed appliances is less than 102 mm.
• The Side‑by‑Side set includes a sidewall heater to prevent condensation, metal brackets, screws and decorative trim to cover the gap (approx. 6–8 mm).
• Use of a Side‑by‑Side set increases energy consumption by 0.4 kWh / 24 h for two units and 0.8 kWh / 24 h for three units.
• If a dividing wall between separate units is less than 102 mm thick, a Side‑by‑Side set and sidewall heater are required.
• When more than two units are combined, various configurations are possible; some configurations may lead to door collisions.

Electrical safety

• Appliance must be operated using alternating current within the permitted voltage and frequency for the country.
• Power sockets must be earthed, electrically protected, not located behind the appliance and easily accessible for disconnecting.
• A separate circuit is recommended to avoid food spoilage caused by failures from other appliances.
• The appliance must not be connected to unearthed power sockets.
• Do not use extension cables, multi‑sockets or inverters; this may cause overheating, fire or damage to control electronics.

Water connection, InfinitySpring & IceMaker

• Water connection work must not be carried out while the appliance is connected to an electrical socket.
• A shut‑off valve must be installed between the hose line and mains water supply and must not be positioned behind the appliance.
• Connection to the water supply must be undertaken only by a trained and licensed plumber.
• Water quality must comply with local drinking water regulations.
• IceMaker is intended solely for producing ice cubes in normal household quantities using appropriate water.
• All repairs and work on InfinitySpring/IceMaker must be carried out by customer service or other trained individuals.
• Only the supply hose delivered with the appliance may be used; additional devices or pipes between solenoid valve and water supply are at the user’s risk.
• If water hardness is high, a water softener is recommended; a filter is also required where solids such as sand are present.
• All devices and systems feeding water to the appliance must meet applicable regional provisions.
• The water filter for InfinitySpring/IceMaker is located in the front section of the appliance base and must be replaced regularly; InfinitySwipe alerts when replacement is due.

Secure mounting & handling

• An anti‑tipping device at the base must be fitted and secured to the floor or wall to prevent the appliance from tipping.
• After positioning in the recess, adjustable feet must be raised from the front until the appliance contacts the anti‑tipping device.
• To achieve a plinth panel height of 102 mm, adjustable feet must be raised by 6–8 mm; for higher plinths, they can be raised by up to 19 mm.
• The appliance should stand for one hour at the installation location before switching on, so fluids in the coolant and lubrication system distribute evenly.
• The appliance should only be installed next to Liebherr refrigerators, freezers or wine cabinets designed for Side‑by‑Side installation; installing next to other brands may cause condensation or damage.

Optional accessories

A range of optional accessories is available for this model and Monolith combinations:

• Flat brushed aluminium handles (810 mm and 658 mm) with 770 mm screw spacing (618 mm for specified freezer panel).
• Square brushed aluminium handles and round stainless steel handles in matching lengths for refrigerator and freezer compartments.
• Stainless steel panel sets sized for ECBN 9671, with centrally drilled handle holes allowing 180 ° rotation if the door hinge is changed.
• Stainless steel plinth panels 102 mm high in widths from 45.7 cm to 182.8 cm, including 91.4 cm for ECBN 9671 and Side‑by‑Side combinations.
• Side‑by‑Side sets with sidewall heater, brackets, screws and decorative trim.
• Sidewall heater for separate unit carcasses with distances under 102 mm.
• Door hinge exchange set for exchanging hinges assembled ex‑works (reversals by authorised Liebherr engineer).
