Appliance and recess dimensions
The appliance depth is 610 mm and it is designed for flush installation in units with a depth of 635 mm using stainless steel or customer-specific panels. Recess dimensions for this model are 213.4 cm (H) x 91.4 cm (W) x 63.5 cm (D). Installation spaces of standard European depth (610 mm) or deeper cut-outs of 635 mm are supported, including configurations where the cut-out depth is 635 mm plus the thickness of a custom panel for inset installations.
Door panels and panels weight
For inset installation, refrigerator compartment door panel dimensions are 1255 mm (H1) x 451 mm (W1) with HS = 6 mm and W2 = 908 mm. For overlay installation, H1 is 1258 mm (plus top overlap), H2 is 768 mm, HS is 6 mm, W1 is 454 mm (plus exterior overlap) and W2 is 914 mm (plus side overlaps). Thickness of the panel is minimum 16 mm (with specific screw considerations for five-piece shaker style panels) and maximum 30 mm. Maximum weight of panel 1 is 40 kg and panel 2 is 30 kg.
Door panels may be overlay or inset. For overlay installation, unit depth is 635 mm; for inset installation, unit depth is 635 mm plus the thickness of the custom panel. The minimum permitted gap between panels is 3 mm. For overlay installations, example configurations show carcass framing of 19 mm and panel thickness of 30 mm.
Installation space requirements
- The floor must bear the appliance weight plus approximately 218 kg to 544 kg of food, depending on model net capacity.
- The floor should be level; the appliance must be supported or levelled to keep ventilation openings clear.
- Recess dimensions must be correctly measured and the power socket located in the correct position.
- The unit recess should be comprised of material at least 16 mm thick and must line up flush at a depth of at least 102 mm from the outside edge.
- Parts of the recess are visible when the door is opened; matching interior and carcass finishes are recommended.
- An installation space between the unit rear wall and kitchen rear wall allows for electricity and water connections and the anti-tipping device.
- Installations behind the appliance are not possible.
Adjustable feet and anti-tipping device
The adjustable feet are fully retracted at the minimum height. The appliance height is increased by turning the adjustable feet from the front once the appliance is positioned in the recess so that it contacts the anti-tipping device. To achieve the minimal plinth panel height of 102 mm, the adjustable feet must be raised by 6 to 8 mm. For higher plinth panels, the feet can be raised by up to 19 mm. The anti-tipping device at the base of the appliance must be secured to the floor or wall.
Ventilation and plinth panel
Monolith appliances are ventilated entirely via the plinth panel. Door panels must close at least 102 mm above the floor and the grille in the plinth panel must not be obstructed. Spacers supplied with the appliance must be fitted to separate warm outgoing air from incoming fresh air. Liebherr offers 102 mm high stainless steel plinth panels in widths from 45.7 cm to 182.8 cm, including a 91.4 cm version for this model and Side-by-Side combinations. Plinth panels are assembled using an adhesive joint pre-assembled on the appliance.
Door spacing requirements
The appliance must be installed so that doors, including handles, do not bump adjoining cupboards, work surfaces, walls or other kitchen elements. A 90° door opening limiter (included in scope of supply) can be inserted into the hinge to limit the opening angle from 115° to 90°. A minimum spacing of 76 mm is recommended to avoid collisions at a 90° opening angle. Further options include reducing door panel thickness if greater than 19 mm, repositioning adjacent elements, or using a stopper.
Side-by-Side installation options
Monolith appliances may be installed:
- Individual positioning – installed as stand-alone appliances with hinge on left or right. A spacing of at least 76 mm is required to prevent collisions for a 90° opening.
- Side-by-Side in a fitted unit – requires a Side-by-Side set if spacing between appliances is less than 102 mm. A spacing of at least 76 mm is again required to avoid collisions at 90° opening.
- Side-by-Side in separate units – when the dividing wall between units is less than 102 mm thick, a Side-by-Side set is required. In back-to-back door positioning, at least 154 mm spacing is necessary.
- Side-by-Side with three units – different options allow combinations of three Monolith units, using one or two Side-by-Side sets and, where applicable, carcass sides of at least 16 mm thickness. Minimum distances of 102 mm or 154 mm are required to prevent handle and door collisions, depending on door opening direction.
Side-by-Side sets include sidewall heaters, metal brackets, screws and decorative trim. The sidewall heater prevents condensation between appliances when installed in separate carcasses and is required when the distance between units is less than 102 mm. The Side-by-Side set increases energy consumption by 0.4 kWh/24 h for two units and 0.8 kWh/24 h for three units.
Water connection, IceMaker and InfinitySpring
Models fitted with InfinitySpring and IceMaker must be connected to a water supply. The water pressure must be between 2.8 and 6.2 bar. Only the supply hose delivered with the appliance must be used. A shut-off valve must be installed between the hose line and the mains water supply so the water can be stopped if necessary; it must not be installed behind the appliance. Water quality must comply with regional drinking water regulations and the IceMaker is for producing ice cubes in normal household quantities with suitable water.
All devices and systems supplying water to the appliance must meet relevant provisions. If water hardness is high, a water softener is recommended and a filter must be used if solids such as sand are present. The water filter for InfinitySpring and IceMaker is located in the front section of the appliance base and must be replaced regularly. An InfinitySwipe alarm reminds the user when replacement is due. All repairs and work on InfinitySpring and IceMaker should only be undertaken by customer service or other trained individuals.
Electrical safety and ambient conditions
The appliance must be operated using alternating current within the permitted voltage and frequency for the relevant country. Power sockets must be earthed, electrically protected and not located behind the appliance, and must be easily accessible to disconnect the appliance if necessary. A separate circuit is recommended to prevent food spoilage caused by failures from other appliances.
- Do not connect to unearthed sockets.
- Do not use extension cables or multi-sockets due to overheating and fire risk.
- Do not connect using an inverter because imperfect sine wave voltage can cause overheating and fire hazards in the control electronics.
The appliances are designed for climate class SN–T (10 °C to 43 °C) and should not be operated outside this ambient temperature range. Refrigerant circuits have been checked for tightness and the appliances meet applicable safety regulations.
Start-up and standing time
To prevent potential damage, the appliance should stand for one hour in the installation location before switching on so that fluids in the coolant and lubrication system are evenly distributed.
