Chimney Cooker Hood

Chimney cooker hoods are the most widely recognisable format: a stainless steel or glass hood body with a telescoping or fixed chimney stack that rises from the canopy to the ceiling. They are designed for installation against a wall above a conventional hob and are available in widths from 60cm to 90cm or wider to match range cookers.

The chimney stack houses the ducting that connects the motor to the external wall or ceiling extraction point. In ducted mode, steam and grease are expelled outside. In recirculation mode, air passes through charcoal and grease filters before returning to the kitchen. Ducted extraction is always more effective and is the preferred specification where routing to outside is feasible.
