Island Cooker Hoods

Island cooker hoods are designed to hang from the ceiling above an island hob or cooking zone, extracting from all four sides simultaneously. Because an island is visible from every direction in an open-plan kitchen, an island hood must perform as a design feature as much as a functional appliance — it occupies the visual centre of the room.

Island hood designs range from architectural glass and stainless steel canopies to sculptural forms in brushed metal and lacquered finishes. Motor power must be sized to handle extraction without a wall to deflect air into the canopy, which typically requires higher extraction rates than an equivalent wall-mounted hood. Remote motor options, mounted in the ceiling void, reduce noise at kitchen level.
