* Total volume indicated to the nearest integer. Volumes of frozen and refrigeration compartments are stated to one decimal place. ** Appliance door hinge left: ECBNei 9771 / appliance door hinge right: ECBNei 9770. Reversing the door hinge must be carried out by authorised Liebherr Monolith customer service.
Installation space and recess
The installation floor must support the weight of the appliance plus approximately 218 kg to 544 kg of food, depending on model. The surface must be level, even and made from a hard, rigid material, with the floor in the installation area at the same height as the rest of the room. Recess dimensions at the installation location must be measured correctly and the power socket positioned appropriately. Appliance height including packaging and pallet is 2285 mm.
Monolith appliances are designed for flush installation in units with a depth of 635 mm using stainless steel panels or customer–specific panels. The depth of the appliance is 610 mm, allowing installation in standard European 610 mm units and deeper 635 mm cut–outs. Top and carcass walls must line up flush with the appliance at a depth of at least 102 mm from the outside edge and have a minimum material thickness of 16 mm.
Because the unit recess is partially visible when the door is opened, the inside should match the unit surface at the top and sides and have a minimum depth of 76 mm. Designed carcass finishes are recommended. A decorative trim is supplied to cover the gap between appliance and side walls of the fitted unit.
The adjustable feet are fully retracted for the minimum height. After positioning, the appliance is raised using the adjustable feet from the front so that it contacts the anti–tipping device. To achieve a plinth panel height of 102 mm, the feet must be raised by 6 to 8 mm. For a higher plinth panel, the feet can be raised by up to 19 mm.
Door panels and Side–by–Side options
For inset installation the door panel dimensions are H1 = 1255 mm, H2 = 768 mm, HS = 6 mm, W = 756 mm. For overlay installation H1 = 1258 mm (plus overlap at the top), H2 = 768 mm, HS = 6 mm, W = 762 mm (plus overlap on both sides). The minimum gap between panels is 4 mm. Monolith appliances can be installed individually, Side–by–Side in a single fitted unit or in separate units. When spacing between appliances is less than 102 mm, a Side–by–Side set is required.
To prevent doors and handles from colliding with adjoining units or walls, a minimum spacing of 76 mm is required for a 90° door opening. For back–to–back door positioning or where doors open towards the centre, greater spacing (up to 154 mm) or dividing wall thicknesses are specified depending on configuration.
Ventilation and plinth panel
Monolith appliances are ventilated entirely via the plinth panel. Door panels must close at least 102 mm above the floor and the grill in the plinth panel must not be obstructed. Wall spacers / air separators supplied with the appliance must be fitted to separate warm outgoing air from fresh incoming air. Liebherr offers an optional 102 mm high stainless steel plinth panel in widths matching the Monolith models and Side–by–Side combinations from 45.7 cm to 182.8 cm.
Electrical safety
The appliance must be operated using alternating current at the permitted voltage and frequency for the relevant country. Power sockets must be earthed, electrically protected, not located behind the appliance and easily accessible for disconnection. A separate circuit is recommended. The appliance must not be connected to unearthed sockets, extension cables, multi–sockets or inverters due to risks of electric shock, overheating or fire.
Water connection, InfinitySpring and IceMaker
Models fitted with InfinitySpring or IceMaker must be connected to a water supply with pressure between 2.8 and 6.2 bar using only the supplied hose. A shut–off valve must be installed between hose line and mains water supply and must not be located behind the appliance. Connection to the water supply must be carried out by a trained and licensed plumber, and water quality must comply with regional drinking water regulations.
The IceMaker is intended solely for producing ice cubes in normal household quantities using appropriate water. All appliances with InfinitySpring or IceMaker include a water filter located in the front section of the appliance base; this must be replaced regularly. An InfinitySwipe alarm indicates when filter replacement is due.
Ambient temperature and operation
The fridge–freezer is intended for refrigerating, freezing and storing food and for making ice (if equipped). It is designed for climate class SN–T with ambient temperature between 10°C and 43°C. Operation outside this range is not permitted. Refrigerant circuits have been checked for tightness and the appliance meets applicable safety regulations.
Secure mounting
To prevent tipping after installation, the anti–tipping device at the base of the appliance must be secured to the floor or wall. Installations behind the appliance are not possible.
