A built-in wine cellar, or wine cabinet, maintains the precise temperature and humidity conditions that allow wine to age correctly over years or decades. Unlike a domestic fridge, which is too cold and too dry for wine storage, a dedicated wine cellar holds between 12°C and 14°C with humidity around 70% — conditions that prevent corks from drying out and the wine from oxidising prematurely.
