Installation space and recess
The floor in the installation area must be level, even and capable of bearing the weight of the appliance plus approximately 218 kg to 544 kg of food, depending on the model. The substrate must be a hard, rigid material at the same height as the rest of the room so that ventilation openings remain clear. Recess dimensions must be measured correctly and the power socket must be in the specified position and easily accessible.
For secure installation, the top and carcass walls of the unit must line up flush with the appliance at a depth of at least 102 mm from the outside edge and must be at least 16 mm thick. Because parts of the recess are visible when the door is open, matching carcass finishes and a minimum visible depth of 76 mm are recommended.
Monolith appliances are designed for flush installation in units with a depth of 635 mm using stainless steel panels or customer-specific panels. The depth of the appliance is 610 mm, allowing installation in standard European 610 mm units as well as 635 mm cut-outs.
The adjustable feet are fully retracted at the minimum height. After positioning in the recess, the appliance is raised from the front so that it contacts the anti-tipping device. To achieve a plinth panel height of 102 mm, the adjustable feet must be raised by 6–8 mm; for higher plinths they can be raised by up to 19 mm.
Door panels and Side-by-Side installation
Custom panels must be between 16 mm and 25 mm thick and must not exceed the maximum permitted panel weight of 30 kg. Other wood-based materials up to 25 mm thickness can be used if the weight limit is observed. The supplied decorative trim covers the gap between the appliance and unit side walls.
Monolith appliances can be installed individually or Side-by-Side. When installed as stand-alone units or in Side-by-Side configurations, a minimum spacing of 76 mm is required to prevent doors and handles colliding with adjacent elements for a door opening limited to 90°. A Side-by-Side set is required if the spacing between appliances is less than 102 mm, or if a dividing wall between separate units is less than 102 mm thick.
For installations with three units, different options are described, including Side-by-Side with two sets or the use of a carcass side of at least 16 mm between the third unit and the connected pair. Where doors open towards each other, minimum distances of 102 mm or 154 mm are specified to avoid collisions.
Ventilation and plinth panel
Monolith appliances are ventilated entirely via the plinth panel. Door panels must close at least 102 mm above the floor and the grill in the plinth must not be obstructed. Wall spacers / air separators supplied with the appliance must be fitted to separate the warm outgoing air from the incoming fresh air.
An optional 102 mm high stainless steel plinth panel is available in widths matching the Monolith models and Side-by-Side combinations from 45.7 cm to 182.8 cm. The plinth panel, with adjustable position depth, is attached by a pre-assembled adhesive joint on the appliance.
Door spacing and opening angle
The doors, including handles, must not bump into cupboards, work surfaces, walls or other kitchen elements when opened. A 90° door opening limiter (included in the scope of supply) can be fitted if there is a risk of collision. The factory-set maximum door opening angle is 115°, and it can be limited to 90° by inserting a stable peg into the hinge.
For overlay and inset door panel installations, diagrams specify clearances and overlaps. The minimum permitted gap between panels is 4 mm. Example drawings reference a 25 mm panel thickness and 19 mm furniture framing.
Electrical safety
The appliance must be operated on alternating current within the permitted voltage and frequency for the country. Power sockets must be earthed, electrically protected and not located behind the appliance; they must remain easily accessible for disconnection. A separate electrical circuit is recommended to prevent defrosting caused by failures due to other appliances.
It must not be connected to unearthed sockets, extension cables, multi-sockets or inverters, due to the risk of overheating, fire or electric shock. The refrigerant circuits have been checked for tightness and the appliances meet applicable safety regulations.
Water connection and IceMaker use
Water connection work must not be carried out while the appliance is connected to an electrical socket. A shut-off valve must be installed between the hose line and the mains water supply, and it must not be positioned behind the appliance. Connection to the water supply must be undertaken only by a trained and licensed plumber.
The water quality must comply with local drinking water regulations. The IceMaker is solely for producing ice cubes in normal household quantities and must only be used with suitable water. All repairs and work on the IceMaker must be performed by customer service employees or other trained individuals.
The water pressure must be between 2.8 and 6.2 bar. Only the supply hose delivered with the appliance may be used. If water hardness is high, a water softener is recommended, and a filter must be used if solids such as sand are present. All devices and systems supplying water must comply with relevant regional provisions.
Appliances with IceMaker have a water filter located in the front section of the base. The water filter must be replaced regularly; an InfinitySwipe alarm reminds users when a replacement is due.
Ambient temperature and use
The freezer is intended for refrigerating, freezing and storing food and for making ice. It is designed for operation within climate class SN-T, corresponding to ambient temperatures from 10 °C to 43 °C. It must not be operated outside this range to ensure optimal cooling performance.
Secure mounting
To prevent the appliance from tipping over after installation, the anti-tipping device positioned at the base must be secured to the floor or wall. Installation must follow the secure mounting guidance in the installation instructions.
Initial set-up advice
To avoid potential damage, the appliance should stand for one hour in the installation location before being switched on so that fluids in the coolant and lubrication system can distribute evenly.
