Adjustable feet and plinth panel
The adjustable feet are fully retracted for the minimum appliance height. After positioning in the recess, the appliance is raised from the front using the adjustable feet until it contacts the anti–tipping device. To achieve the minimal plinth panel height of 102 mm, the adjustable feet must be raised by 6 to 8 mm. If a higher plinth panel is required, the adjustable feet can be raised by up to 19 mm.
Installation space requirements
The floor must be capable of bearing the weight of the appliance plus approximately 218 kg to 544 kg of food, depending on model capacity. The surface must be level, even and made of a hard, rigid material, with the installation area floor at the same height as the rest of the room. The recess dimensions must be correctly measured and the power socket in the correct position. Appliance height including packaging and pallet is 2285 mm.
Before switching on, the appliance should stand for one hour at the installation location so that fluids in the coolant and lubrication system can distribute evenly.
Recess and flush installation
For secure installation, the top and carcass walls must line up flush with the appliance at a depth of at least 102 mm from the outside edge and be made from material at least 16 mm thick. Because parts of the recess are visible when the door is opened, the inside should match the unit surface with a minimum depth of 76 mm. Monolith appliances are designed for flush installation in units with a depth of 635 mm using stainless steel panels or customer–specific panels available as accessories.
A decorative trim is included to cover the gap between appliance and side walls. The appliance depth of 610 mm allows installation in standard European 610 mm units or deeper 635 mm cut–outs. For flush installation, Inset door panel dimensions must be used; for other options, door spacing requirements must be observed.
Door panel installation
Inset door panels use dimensions A = 400 mm, B = 12.5 mm, C = 962 mm. Overlay door panels use A = 406 mm, B = 12.5 mm, C = 975 mm and D = 400 mm, with dimension A measured without fitted door handle. When using fronts thinner than 16 mm, shorter screws than those provided must be used. The minimum permitted gap between panels is 4 mm.
Ventilation requirements
The appliance is ventilated entirely via the plinth panel. Door panels must close at least 102 mm above the floor and the grill in the plinth panel must not be obstructed. Wall spacers/air separators supplied with the appliance must be fitted to separate warm outgoing air from incoming fresh air. Liebherr offers a 102 mm high stainless steel plinth panel, in widths matching the Monolith models and Side–by–Side combinations from 45.7 cm to 182.8 cm.
Installation options and door spacing
Monolith appliances can be installed as stand–alone units or Side–by–Side in fitted or separate units. When sizing the fitted unit, the thickness of the door panel and handle must be considered. To prevent doors and handles from colliding with adjoining elements, a minimum spacing of 76 mm is required for a 90° door opening. For back–to–back door positioning, a minimum spacing of 154 mm is needed.
A Side–by–Side set is required if the spacing between appliances is less than 102 mm or if the dividing wall is thinner than 102 mm. The included 90° door opening limiter can be fitted to restrict the opening angle from the factory setting of 115°.
Electrical safety
The appliance must be operated using alternating current within the permitted voltage and frequency for the country. Power sockets must be earthed, electrically protected and easily accessible; they must not be located behind the appliance. A separate circuit is recommended to avoid food spoilage caused by other appliances.
The appliance must not be connected to unearthed sockets, extension cables, multi–sockets or inverters, due to risks of electric shock, overheating, fire or imperfect sine wave voltage. Warnings emphasise that failure to follow these instructions may result in severe injuries or death.
Water connection, InfinitySpring and IceMaker
Models with InfinitySpring or IceMaker must be connected to a water supply with pressure between 2.8 and 6.2 bar, using only the supplied hose. A shut–off valve must be installed between the hose and mains water supply, not behind the appliance. Connection to the water supply must be carried out by a trained and licensed plumber, and the water must comply with local drinking water regulations.
The IceMaker is for producing ice cubes in normal household quantities using suitable water. All devices and systems supplying water must meet applicable regional provisions. Appliances with InfinitySpring or IceMaker include a water filter located in the front section of the base; it must be replaced regularly. An InfinitySwipe alarm reminds users when replacement is due. Repairs or work on InfinitySpring or IceMaker must be performed only by customer service or trained individuals.
Ambient temperature and climate class
The appliance is intended for refrigerating, freezing and storing food and for making ice. It is designed for operation within ambient temperature limits defined by the climate class. For refrigerators and freezers the climate class is SN–T, corresponding to an ambient range from 10 °C to 43 °C. Operation outside specified ambient temperatures is not permitted.
Refrigerant circuits are checked for tightness and the appliances meet applicable safety regulations.
Secure mounting
To prevent tipping after installation, the anti–tipping device at the base of the appliance must be fitted and secured to the floor or wall. Further details are provided in the installation instructions under secure mounting.
