Canopy cooker hoods integrate into bespoke cabinetry above the hob, with the motor and extraction mechanics concealed within a custom-built hood housing. Only the stainless steel canopy — the visible baffle and lighting panel — is visible below the cabinetry. This allows the hood to be designed as part of the kitchen furniture rather than as a separate appliance.
The cabinetry that houses a canopy hood can be finished in any material — painted MDF, solid timber, lacquered glass — giving architects and kitchen designers complete freedom in how the extraction solution is presented. The motor can often be remotely mounted in a roof space or external location to reduce noise at the hob.
Woodalls supplies canopy hood motors and canopy units from Siemens, Bosch, and other manufacturers to work with custom-built cabinetry. Our team can advise on motor specification, remote motor installation options, and how to ensure the extraction rate is appropriate for the hob output below. This format is common in high-specification London kitchen projects.
